It has been over a year since I have posted anything on this blog.  I would like to make a return to it! Mrs. Erb's Art Page has been neglected since I created a Facebook page and Instagram account.  It is hard to keep up with the social media aspect of teaching.

We are well into the 2015-2016 school year and we have done quite a bit at both Birch Meadow and Wood End Schools.  I have some photos of what we have been doing and will post below.  There have been a lot of changes and two of the most exciting and frightening was the addition of  two 40 minute afternoon Kindergarten art classes and an Adaptive Art class! Unfortunately, K Art is only taking place at the Wood End school for now and Adaptive Art is only taking place at Birch Meadow.  It is very exciting because Adaptive Art and K for me, but frightening because Adaptive Art and K Art are new to me.

Here is what we have been working on in pictures:

In October, K students created some tissue paper pumpkins and collaged them to black paper to create Pumpkins at night.

I love the tiny man with the telescope!

The second photo is a little blurry, but you can see in both photos, the mixed media skills we worked in.  Tissue paper collage, cut paper (first time using scissors!) and drawing.  They actually came out very good and I was impressed with my kinder artists!

We have done a lot of other projects like learn about primary colors and secondary colors, we created a color wheel, a primary color stamp project, and just last week we worked on Primary Color Playgrounds using Geometric Shapes (only squares, rectangles, circles and triangles were talked about and used) The pictures are below:

In the other grades we have been doing so many projects.  I have yet to take photos, but I will soon and start to regularly post again.  I hope I gain more readers and followers, and will be posting again soon!
