At Wood End school, third grade students worked on a painting about shape, color and line. We reviewed Geometric and Organic shape and primary and secondary colors on the first day. Once we knew what these things were, we started a painting using only primary and secondary colors, and organic and geometric shape. We filled up our papers with different shapes and color using only paint. We did not start out with pencil first; we just painted shapes with our brushes.

After our paintings were dry, we did some black and white over painting on our shapes. We first outlined the shapes using black or white paint, then we painted line designs inside of our shapes to create an abstract shape painting.
